Service Description
The American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Renewal Course is designed for healthcare professionals who currently hold a PALS Provider credential and need to renew their certification. The course refreshes the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognize and respond to serious respiratory, circulatory, and cardiac emergencies involving infants and children. WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE? PALS Renewal is intended for healthcare professionals who respond to pediatric emergencies, including those working in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, critical care, and pediatric clinical settings. WHAT YOU’LL REVIEW • High-quality CPR for infants and children • Systematic pediatric patient assessment • Early recognition of cardiopulmonary arrest • Respiratory distress and respiratory failure • Compensated and decompensated shock • Pediatric arrhythmia recognition and management • PALS treatment algorithms • Effective team communication and leadership • Post-cardiac-arrest management BEFORE ATTENDING Participants must complete the required PALS Precourse Self-Assessment and online preparation before attending class. Proof of completion must be provided as instructed. COURSE FORMAT After completing the online precourse work, participants attend a one-day, instructor-led renewal class that includes course review, hands-on skills practice, and simulated pediatric emergencies. Students will demonstrate their ability to manage a respiratory emergency and participate in a team-based Megacode evaluation. Participants must successfully complete the required skills assessments, team-based scenario testing, and course exam. COURSE COMPLETION After successfully completing all course requirements, participants will receive an American Heart Association PALS Provider eCard valid for two years.
Cancellation Policy
STUDENT CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING We understand that plans can change. To cancel or reschedule your registration, please use the Manage Booking link included in your confirmation email or contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of your class. Cancellations and rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the class, as well as failure to attend, are not eligible for a refund. For blended-learning courses, fees associated with online course materials may be nonrefundable once the materials or access link have been issued. CANCELLATIONS OR SCHEDULE CHANGES BY THE TRAINING PROVIDER If we need to cancel a class, registered students will be notified as soon as possible and may choose to transfer their registration to another available date or receive a full refund. If we need to reschedule a class, registered students will be notified of the new date and time. If the new schedule does not work for a student, they may transfer their registration to another available class or request a full refund. We are not responsible for additional expenses resulting from a class cancellation or schedule change, including travel, lodging, childcare or lost wages. Classes are offered at scheduled training locations throughout Colorado Springs. The exact location is provided during registration.
