In-person hands-on practice and skills testing
Service Description
This in-person skills session is the hands-on portion of the American Heart Association HeartCode BLS blended-learning course. It is intended for students who have already completed the required HeartCode BLS online coursework. During the session, an AHA instructor will provide hands-on practice and evaluate each participant’s ability to perform essential Basic Life Support skills. SKILLS PRACTICED AND EVALUATED • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants • One-rescuer and multi-rescuer CPR • Proper use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) • Rescue breathing and bag-mask ventilation • Response to choking emergencies • Communication and teamwork during resuscitation scenarios BEFORE ATTENDING Students must complete the HeartCode BLS online course before attending the skills session and provide their online course completion certificate. Please note that this registration is for the in-person skills session only. Access to the online HeartCode BLS course is not included unless otherwise stated. COURSE INFORMATION • Format: In-person hands-on practice and skills testing • Duration: Approximately one to two hours • Prerequisite: Completed HeartCode BLS online coursework • Credential: AHA BLS Provider eCard valid for two years after successful completion of both the online and hands-on portions
Cancellation Policy
STUDENT CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING We understand that plans can change. To cancel or reschedule your registration, please use the Manage Booking link included in your confirmation email or contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of your class. Cancellations and rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the class, as well as failure to attend, are not eligible for a refund. For blended-learning courses, fees associated with online course materials may be nonrefundable once the materials or access link have been issued. CANCELLATIONS OR SCHEDULE CHANGES BY THE TRAINING PROVIDER If we need to cancel a class, registered students will be notified as soon as possible and may choose to transfer their registration to another available date or receive a full refund. If we need to reschedule a class, registered students will be notified of the new date and time. If the new schedule does not work for a student, they may transfer their registration to another available class or request a full refund. We are not responsible for additional expenses resulting from a class cancellation or schedule change, including travel, lodging, childcare or lost wages. Classes are offered at scheduled training locations throughout Colorado Springs. The exact location is provided during registration.
