Service Description
This instructor-led American Red Cross Basic Life Support course prepares healthcare and public-safety professionals to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. The classroom format combines instructor-led lessons, skills demonstrations, hands-on practice, and realistic emergency scenarios. Participants can ask questions, receive immediate feedback, and develop the practical skills required for BLS certification. WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE? This course is designed for healthcare clinicians and public-safety professionals, including: • Nurses and physicians • EMTs and paramedics • Certified nursing assistants • Dental and medical staff • Firefighters and law-enforcement personnel • Other professionals who need BLS certification for employment or licensing WHAT YOU’LL LEARN • Rapid patient assessment • Single-rescuer and multi-rescuer CPR • CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants • Response to choking and obstructed-airway emergencies • Response to opioid-associated emergencies • Critical thinking and problem-solving • Communication and teamwork • The role of the emergency medical services system • Safety precautions and legal considerations COURSE INFORMATION • Format: Instructor-led classroom training • Duration: Approximately 4–5 hours • Training: Lecture, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and scenario-based evaluation • Continuing education: CE credits may be available for eligible professions COURSE COMPLETION Participants must successfully complete the required hands-on skills assessments and final course testing. After completing all requirements, participants will receive an American Red Cross digital BLS certificate valid for two years. The certificate can be viewed, printed, downloaded, or shared and includes a unique identification number and QR code for employer verification.
Cancellation Policy
STUDENT CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING We understand that plans can change. To cancel or reschedule your registration, please use the Manage Booking link included in your confirmation email or contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of your class. Cancellations and rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the class, as well as failure to attend, are not eligible for a refund. For blended-learning courses, fees associated with online course materials may be nonrefundable once the materials or access link have been issued. CANCELLATIONS OR SCHEDULE CHANGES BY THE TRAINING PROVIDER If we need to cancel a class, registered students will be notified as soon as possible and may choose to transfer their registration to another available date or receive a full refund. If we need to reschedule a class, registered students will be notified of the new date and time. If the new schedule does not work for a student, they may transfer their registration to another available class or request a full refund. We are not responsible for additional expenses resulting from a class cancellation or schedule change, including travel, lodging, childcare or lost wages. Classes are offered at scheduled training locations throughout Colorado Springs. The exact location is provided during registration.
