Service Description
COMPLETE THE FORM BELOW TO REQUEST THIS COURSE. This American Red Cross course prepares youth ages 11–16 to care for children and infants safely, responsibly, and confidently. Through instructor-led lessons, videos, discussions, and hands-on activities, participants develop practical babysitting skills while learning how to recognize and respond to pediatric first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN • Responsible babysitting practices • Child and infant safety • Age-appropriate care and supervision • Feeding and diapering • Safely picking up and holding children • Recognizing and responding to emergencies • Pediatric first aid • Child and infant CPR • Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) COURSE INFORMATION • Recommended ages: 11–16 • Format: Instructor-led classroom training with hands-on skills practice • Training: Videos, discussions, practical activities, and emergency-response skills • Workplace requirements: The Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED component is designed to satisfy OSHA workplace safety certification requirements Participants should confirm any specific training requirements with their employer or organization. PHYSICAL PARTICIPATION NOTICE CPR practice can be physically demanding. Participants must be able to perform hands-on CPR skills using a training manikin. A body weight of approximately 85–90 pounds is recommended for successful participation in this portion of the course. COURSE COMPLETION Participants who successfully complete the course will receive: • An American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training digital certificate valid for 10 years • An American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED digital certificate valid for two years Digital certificates can be viewed, printed, downloaded, or shared through the participant’s Red Cross account. Each certificate includes a unique identification number and QR code for verification.
Cancellation Policy
STUDENT CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING We understand that plans can change. To cancel or reschedule your registration, please use the Manage Booking link included in your confirmation email or contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of your class. Cancellations and rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the class, as well as failure to attend, are not eligible for a refund. For blended-learning courses, fees associated with online course materials may be nonrefundable once the materials or access link have been issued. CANCELLATIONS OR SCHEDULE CHANGES BY THE TRAINING PROVIDER If we need to cancel a class, registered students will be notified as soon as possible and may choose to transfer their registration to another available date or receive a full refund. If we need to reschedule a class, registered students will be notified of the new date and time. If the new schedule does not work for a student, they may transfer their registration to another available class or request a full refund. We are not responsible for additional expenses resulting from a class cancellation or schedule change, including travel, lodging, childcare or lost wages. Classes are offered at scheduled training locations throughout Colorado Springs. The exact location is provided during registration.
