Online precourse work followed by instructor-led classroom training and skills testing
Service Description
The American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Initial Provider Course prepares healthcare professionals to manage cardiac arrest, stroke, and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Building upon Basic Life Support skills, the course emphasizes early recognition, evidence-based interventions, communication, and teamwork. REQUIRED PRECOURSE WORK Complete both parts before attending class: • Part 1: Complete the approximately one-hour Precourse Self-Assessment in one sitting. • Part 2: Watch the required course videos online. The videos may be completed over multiple sessions. Please allow several hours to complete all required precourse work. WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE? This course is designed for physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, emergency-response personnel, and other healthcare professionals who manage critically ill patients. Participants should be proficient in: • High-quality Basic Life Support • ECG rhythm interpretation • ACLS medications and pharmacology • Bag-mask ventilation WHAT YOU’LL LEARN • Systematic patient assessment • High-quality BLS and CPR • Airway management and ventilation • Cardiac rhythm recognition • Defibrillation and cardioversion • Transcutaneous pacing • ACLS medications and vascular access • Management of cardiac arrest and peri-arrest rhythms • Acute coronary syndromes and stroke • Post-cardiac-arrest care • Team communication and leadership COURSE FORMAT After completing the precourse work, participants attend an instructor-led classroom session with hands-on learning stations, emergency scenarios, skills practice, testing, and a team-leader Megacode evaluation. COURSE COMPLETION Participants who successfully complete all requirements will receive an American Heart Association ACLS Provider eCard valid for two years.
Cancellation Policy
STUDENT CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING We understand that plans can change. To cancel or reschedule your registration, please use the Manage Booking link included in your confirmation email or contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of your class. Cancellations and rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the class, as well as failure to attend, are not eligible for a refund. For blended-learning courses, fees associated with online course materials may be nonrefundable once the materials or access link have been issued. CANCELLATIONS OR SCHEDULE CHANGES BY THE TRAINING PROVIDER If we need to cancel a class, registered students will be notified as soon as possible and may choose to transfer their registration to another available date or receive a full refund. If we need to reschedule a class, registered students will be notified of the new date and time. If the new schedule does not work for a student, they may transfer their registration to another available class or request a full refund. We are not responsible for additional expenses resulting from a class cancellation or schedule change, including travel, lodging, childcare or lost wages. Classes are offered at scheduled training locations throughout Colorado Springs. The exact location is provided during registration.
